My individual 1:1 handwriting lessons happen in person either in the child’s home or school. They last for 1 hour and the frequency between when each session is booked is down to the parents. Personally I recommend weekly sessions to start as I feel that helps make the most progress.
In the individual lessons I bring all the resources. Research suggests that the best way to improve handwriting is to work on a combination of fine motor hand skills and handwriting. This is what I do.
People need to pay for a number of blocks of lessons. Again occupational therapy research suggests handwriting lessons need to be anywhere from 6 to 12 sessions for changes to be made. My blocks of handwriting lessons are either 6, 8 or 10. The number is down to yourself to decide however I do suggest you contact me first so that I can further assist you.
Still not certain if this is right for your child?
Sometimes it can appear a bit daunting to know what to do next. There are two ways in which I can help. We can either speak on the phone or you could book a taster lesson. To speak on the phone it is best to email me and let me know a time that suits you to speak. That is because I am often working in schools and cannot stop a lesson to speak. Either way I am assure you I don’t two heads and scare children into changing their handwriting. In fact, I’m really nice and get FABULOUS results.
What is a taster lesson?
This will act as our first session, where your child will receive all my super input. It is slightly more expensive than a regular session due to the preparation I need to do for a one off lesson. When you decide to book a series of block sessions, which I’m confident you will, £15 will be taken off your order meaning for your first lesson you will have paid my usual teaching rate of £35 an hour (excluding any travel costs).
