It is time for your child to improve their handwriting and make it easier for the teachers to mark their work
When your child joins us for our handwriting kick starter challenge, we’ll improve their handwriting in just 4 days with video workshops and live Q&A sessions.
Being a student these days is tricky. Keeping up with the demands of the curriculum can be tough.
Your child is getting a lot of things right, but you know that their life could be made easier if their handwriting was a little less messy. What you really want is:
- Them to make lifelong changes to their handwriting
- Feel confident when writing
- A teacher (or yourself) never has to struggle to read their writing again
They can have all of these things. They just need a little guidance and support. We’ve got that in abundance!
Over 4 days, we will teach your child how to improve their handwriting and they can use this back in the classroom the next time they are at school.
Maybe they’ve . . .
- Disliked having to write in cursive handwriting during their primary school years and are reverting back to a printed handwriting style but they’ve not quite got it looking right.
- Struggled to get everything down in time and when you look at their work it appears one big mess.
- Found the transition to Year 7 harder than expected. So many different teachers, all with different expectations.
It is time to help them make changes to their handwriting.
What

This is not your average handwriting challenge
There’s a lot of handwriting trainings out there.
So what makes this different?
First, this challenge was created specifically for 11 to 14 year olds. This content won’t work for a student in a primary school. Every video is tailored specifically for the needs of your secondary school student, making it more impactful.
I will be there to guide you and your child and answer any questions.
And it is completely FREE!
Why choose us?
- Trained OT’s (Occupational Therapists) and handwriting experts.
- Experienced in supporting and encouraging teenagers to make changes to their writing.
- Helped hundreds of students, even when the teachers have given up and are recommending typing as the only option.
- Sheilagh, the founder, is a published author of two books on handwriting.
Now for the bit you have been waiting for. Here are the amazing topics we are going to be covering.
Day 1 – How to nail writing those numbers
By now you’re probably a whizz at writing numbers but how many times does your 9 look like the number 4? Perhaps people mistake your 7 and 1? We all know that numbers in secondary schools are rarely written alone. They often include units of measurement such as cm, mph, kw or are placed within an algebra equation. On this day you’ll ‘nail’ the numbers to make all maths and science subjects easier to read.
Day 2 – Spot the grammar mistakes
Are you able to spot the errors here? On this day you will be asked to look at past Twitter posts to identify grammar errors made by celebrities. How good will you be at spotting their grammar and punctuation mistakes?
Day 3 – How to layout your work so that it is readable.
Ever find your work going down the page but diagonally? Do you struggle to write in the boxes provided in worksheets? This is the day to solve those pesky issues and make it easier for the teachers to mark your work.
Day 4 – Do you have the skill to write fast and keep it legible?
Do you know how fast is too fast when writing? We can all write super sonic fast but if no one can read it then it is not worth putting the words down onto the paper. On our last day, we will look at reasons why writing fast is not always the best answer and how you can speed up but not lose your writing quality.
First Tuesday of the month – Question and Answer session
We know how tricky it can be to improve handwriting on your own. This is why we are here to guide you. Every month on the first Tuesday you can ask Sheilagh, our founder, any question. These zoom group calls are open to students and parents. They take place from 8 to 8.30 pm. A zoom link will be emailed to you at the same time as receiving day 4’s content.
But why do this?
Isn’t it time to . . .
- Improve writing numbers
- Avoid common grammar and punctuation mistakes
- Lay the work out correctly on the page
- Learn how to write faster without it being messy
In secondary school (middle and high school) there is no time given to practising handwriting. Where else are you going to get this support?
There is a common misbelief that after 12 years of age writing cannot be changed. This is rubbish. Not everything has to be typed.
Working together we can help your child master this essential life skill. It will make their school experience easier and more enjoyable. The teachers will be able to mark their work and give them the true grades that all their effort deserves. They’ll even enjoy our way of teaching handwriting because it is fun and effective.
