Do you see your child wanting to scrunch up their work because they are frustrated with how it looks?
Is this you? Over the years, have you noticed your child’s handwriting change? In truth, while once readable, it now requires effort to decipher. They admit it’s becoming tricky to read but say it’s still better than others. But despite trying various handwriting solutions, nothing has changed. So you’re worried about how their teachers can mark their work. And you feel it’s time for expert help, someone who knows what they are doing and can make it readable again.
Our 1 to 1 handwriting tuition will help.
Our 1 to 1 handwriting lessons will solve the issue quickly and show them the changes they need to make. Your child will not be asked to learn how to write again but to use their existing skills. They’ll learn how to tweak, refine and improve. Their OT will be the perfect guide. A guide that recognises this might feel like a big hurdle to climb but who will be their biggest supporter.
Are you thinking... but what real progress can my child make when they have been writing like this for ages?
A lot! Our personalised 1 to 1 handwriting lessons provide the expert guidance your child needs. So regardless of their previous experience, they will make significant improvements. What we love is seeing is their faces change as they witness their writing transforming. Our lessons boost both their skills and confidence simultaneously.
By trusting us you will see your child start to be:
How does a 1 to 1 handwriting lesson work?
Below is a picture of some of the activities that we do in our 1 to 1 handwriting lessons. As you see there is a combination of quizzes, opinion based writing and topic specific activities. The key is getting the balance right between enjoyment and being able to transfer the skills back into the classroom. When asking a child to practice their handwriting they must write their answers down. We check the writing by seeing what they have written. A screenshot is taken and we use this image to discuss areas to improve.
If you’re here thinking this is great, but my child is 10 or under, we have a different page that you might find more helpful to read.

Before our first lesson: Assessment
Uncover the secrets to a wonderful first meeting:
- Before our initial lesson, capture your child’s writing on video for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Afterward, email this and any evidence of school work plus our completed worksheets. All evidence should be back 24 hours to us before we meet.
- Using the emailed information, we’ll assess your child’s skills in general, examining handwriting biomechanics (grip, posture, paper angling) and letter fundamentals (size, formation, spacing, joins).
- Finally, to ensure a successful lesson, your child will need a quiet room without distractions, a table with standard lined paper and pen/pencil, an internet-enabled device (laptop, tablet, or mobile phone), and access to Zoom.
